Classroom Walls at Rutare
Funds Raised:
$1,000 / $1,900
Children at Rutare Elementary School
The school at Rutare has a vibrant community and a very active parent-teacher association (PTA). The community involvement has been so remarkable that a Ugandan government worker has taken notice and started contributing to their efforts.
As the reputation at Rutare continues to improve, more families are sending their children to the school. To avoid overcrowding, the community is building a new classroom building for their kindergarten and first grade classes.
This project funds the cement and bricks for the foundation and walls for the new building. The community is providing for the foundation stones and labor for the construction.
Kisoro Kids and the community at Rutare partnered in 2016 to build the classroom on the right.
