It’s a New Year, and That Means New Plans

2022 has shut her doors and 2023 is underway, so Kisoro Kids’ Board members, executive director and advisor met recently to review 2022 and plan for the coming year. Thank goodness, Chris and Kelly Persons arrived with donuts, coffee and snacks because Board members Jeremy Raper, Amy Kibby, Susan Parton, Karen Farlow and Laurie Pallotta arrived with sweet-tooth appetites and a readiness to look to a fresh year for Kisoro Kids.

The donuts and snacks may or may not have helped, but the Board unanimously approved Chris’ continuing service as Kisoro Kids executive director, with Simon, Aggie and Kelly also receiving unanimous votes to continue as Kisoro Kids advisors.

The Board was sorry to see Amy Kibbey rotate off and is grateful for her years of dedicated support, but she has no intention of dropping Kisoro Kids, altogether. Once it’s in you, it sticks!

In good news, the Board discussed the importance of adding new members, and looks forward to introducing you to them as they come. One candidate is currently under review, so stay tuned!

Until next time, we’ll all keep working to break the cycle of poverty through education — one kid at a time.
