10 Desks at Mucenta
Funds Raised:
$1,110 / $1,110
Proceeds from this sustainable business will benefit teachers in Kisoro
When Kisoro Kids started in 2011, students were sitting on logs or unstable benches, struggling to find a way to write in their notebooks. Through generous donations, Kisoro Kids has now provided over 300 desks for the five community schools. But they need more!

This project provides 40 students at Mucenta Elementary a more comfortable place to sit, write, and store their supplies. The 10 desks will be made by local Ugandan carpenters, helping the local economy. A love of learning at an early age is important and we want to help the children in Kisoro get off to a great start!
This project includes startup funds for ¼ acre of farmland, and the labor and materials needed to produce the first crop. With this ¼ acre, school leaders will operate the business, refine their approach, and report on their profitability. Once these lessons are learned, we plan to raise additional funds for more farmland for the schools!
